Amita C. Smith moved from Sun Valley to Bliss more than several years ago, hoping to find a place to raise her two young daughters with a sense of connectedness to the land and the local people who earn a living from the land. Thus was born the Across the River Horse Ranch, located “across the river” from the small town of Bliss, Idaho.
Amita started the ranch with just a few horses and dogs. Over time, the ranch has evolved into a sanctuary for rescued horses and other stray or unwanted animals. Presently, the ranch is home to a few dozen horses, several dogs, several more cats, two goats, a lama, and a cow.

The Ageless Senior Center was approved as a non-profit 501 (c)(3) in 1973. From the beginning, the purpose of the organization was to use all available resources to “maintain a more useful and meaningful life” for seniors. In short, our current mission is to “nourish body and soul” by providing outstanding meals three times per week, five meals per week for home delivery participants and activities each day such as exercise class, bingo, pinochle, snooker, and provide health screenings and information. The value of social interactions that take place during congregate meals is innumerable, particularly for those living alone.
Child Services, Mental Health
PO BOX 5533, Twin Falls, ID 83303

https://becausekidsgrieve.org/

Any child old enough to love is old enough to grieve. While in their own grief, parents may not realize how their children are feeling. Children may hide their grief because they blame themselves, are afraid, or hiding anger. Recovering from a loss takes time and it has been shown that having a sense of community is essential to help children get back their lives.
Because Kids Grieve is a support organization for children, teens, and their families who grieve the loss of someone they love because of death. We have a variety of events scheduled for each quarter of the year. There is no cost to the families that use our services.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Inc (SHP), founded in Twin Falls, Idaho in 2013, was established as a non-profit organization for the purpose of providing fully furnished, hand made beds for children who are otherwise without a bed of their own. SHP believes the number of children experiencing “bedlessness” is a silent epidemic and that the number of children in need far exceeds the availability of beds for the underprivileged. The organizations’s mission, to see that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town, has guided the growth and expansion of SHP to 340 chapters across the United States, and an affiliated organization in Canada with two chapters. Community volunteers construct and deliver free, fully furnished beds to children in need in local chapter areas.

Out of the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan, Type of Wood Charities was created. In response to the Philippines devastation of Typhoon Haiyan, the strongest typhoon ever recorded, a small group of volunteers joined in the efforts to rebuild homes and help communities recover from the destruction/devastation.
After this life changing experience, Rob Sturgill knew more should be done to help others and created Type of Wood Charities. We have continued to return to the Philippines with groups of volunteers ready to share their time, talents, love and resources. Our efforts have expanded to Africa and Ukraine.
Since the development of Type of Wood Charities, we expanded our work into Africa in 2019. Then when the conflict began in Ukraine February, 2022 we began helping volunteers serve in Poland and Ukraine. We hope to continue growing our network into more countries in the future to serve more people worldwide.
