Our goal at Helping Hearts & Hands is to be available to the people in Gooding County, Idaho, to provide assistance with needs beyond their financial ability. Our primary function since opening our doors on February 28, 2007 as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit is as a Food Pantry. We work with local schools to provide food for a weekend backpack program for students who are food insecure, and this program continues year round. We operate a Coats for Kids and Adults program. We have a small budget for assistance.

The Idaho Foodbank is the largest distributor of free food assistance in Idaho through a network of more than 400 community-based partners including schools, food pantries, senior centers, feeding sites, shelters, and churches. Recognizing the crucial connection between hunger and health, we focus on healthy food options and partners with community programs to promote nutrition education and healthy living. In the Magic Valley specifically, 13% of the population is food insecure, while that number rises to 16% for children. The Idaho Foodbank serves our neighbors by way of distributing food to 68 local partners, keeping children fed through the weekend with the Backpack Program, and serving nutritious meals to our elderly through senior food boxes among other programs. Our partnerships have enabled us to pilot a food hub system (LOLA) where produce and protein are stored in a refrigerated trailer for our pantries to utilize. Join us in the fight to end hunger in Idaho!
