Castleford, ID
Idaho’s Rangeland Fire Protection Associations (RFPAs) are vital volunteer groups of farmers and ranchers trained to combat fires, protecting millions of acres through partnerships and legal recognition. The first line of fire defense in many rural areas are Rangeland Fire Protection Associations (RFPAs). These groups of volunteers, mainly farmers and ranchers, are trained and authorized to respond to fires and help protect 9 million acres of Idaho lands. In south-central Idaho, the Three Creek RFPA is adjacent to the Saylor Creek, Shoshone Basin and Notch Butte RFPAs.

Research Conservation and Development (RC&D) Councils were originally established with the Agricultural Act of 1962 as part of a partnership with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). After many changes through the years, today RC&D Councils are non-profit organizations that work to preserve natural resources, better the community, and form connections with local government, school boards and other civic entities. The Mid-Snake RC&D Council was formed in 1993 and covers a primary service area of Twin Falls, Jerome, Cassia, and Minidoka counties. Today, our mission is to help develop the economy of the region and improve the well-being of citizens while protecting the environment and conserving the unique resources of the area.

https://boulderfest.athlete360.com/

Boulderfest one of the only outdoor bouldering events in the Western US. We began in 2011 to provide a space for climbers to gather, have a little fun, and network. Over the years we have become an iconic Idaho event. A space to meet up with friends new and old, as well as a chance to give back by participating in the annual Adopt-a-Crag clean up.
$5 of every entry fee gets donated to Access Fund or Southern Idaho Climbing Coalition.

The Shoshone Basin RFPA, located south of Twin Falls in Rogerson, covers a big swath of country, total 488,000 acres of land with 45 members.
Rangeland Fire Protection Associations empower local landowners to protect their own property and their neighbors’ where fire protection services are limited or not available. By responding quickly, fires on the range can be kept small. RFPAs can also respond to fires nearby that would otherwise take time for other firefighting agencies to reach. They operate under the concept of “neighbors helping neighbors” with support, including start-up funding, training, and refurbished equipment provided through IDL, BLM, and other partners including the Office of Species Conservation and US Fish and Wildlife Service.
