Suitable for ages 14 and up.  \nClass size is limited for the best experience\, sign up early to save your spot!  \nRegister online here\, call MVAC at 208-734-ARTS (2787)\, or stop in to sign up. \n  \nSecond Saturday at the Full Moon Gallery presents Making Colors Sing: How to Mix a Harmonious Color Palette with Michelle George  \n  \nColor mixing and selection is one of the hardest skills to learn when you are starting out with art\, and Michelle George is here to guide you through the process! By the end of class\, students will understand how to select a color palette and how to mix/blend colors to make their artwork shine. \nStudents will be led through several exercises using watercolor paints to see the effects of different colors and color schemes\, while learning about complimentary\, primary\, secondary\, and tertiary colors\, and how to use a color wheel to assist in the artistic process. \nThis class will focus on watercolor paints\, but the lessons learned can be applied to any medium! \n  \nAll materials provided (but you are welcome to bring your own watercolor supplies if you would like) \nNo experience necessary — beginners welcome! \n  \nRefund Policy: all ticket\, table\, or seat purchases are NON REFUNDABLE from date of purchase.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, February 14 \n10:00 a.m. – Noon (we will stop accepting walk-ins at 11:30am if classes are full) \nMagic Valley Arts Council – Ground Floor \nCost:  FREE for ages 18 and under \nJoin us for a creative Second Saturday youth workshop! Kids 18 and under can join in and learn how music shows up in visual arts with two fun projects – a beaded spinning drum\, and a watercolor ‘dancing’ painting! \nParents\, bring your little ones out for a morning of creativity—no registration required! Drop-ins are welcome until 11:30 AM. While she generally focuses on watercolor and woodworking\, you may find her dabbling in a wide variety of art forms. Each week we’ll focus on one animal – from elephants and giraffes to lions\, zebras\, and birds – using simple shapes\, layered watercolor washes\, and clear step-by-step guidance. You’ll learn how to suggest fur and texture\, capture personality through eyes and posture\, and create lively color palettes that bring your animals to life. \nThis course is designed for all levels\, including beginners who have always wanted to paint animals but didn’t know where to start. \nAll are welcome – no drawing experience necessary. \nPlease bring your own watercolor supplies (suggested supply list below)\, or purchase a complete beginner supply kit from Leslie for $75 – optional\, pre-order is recommended. With a keen eye for detail and a mastery of color\, Lambert skillfully pours and manipulates pigments on paper\, resulting in stunning and dynamic compositions of the West. Her artwork\, characterized by vibrant hues\, has garnered widespread acclaim and has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and exhibitions worldwide. Lambert’s ability to push the boundaries of traditional watercolor painting has established her as a trail blazer in the arts. \nIn addition to signature status with the Cowgirl Artists of America (CGA)\, Lambert is a signature member of Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS)\, and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor. She is also an associate member of Women Artists of the West (WAOW). Lambert is the author of Watercolor 365: Daily Tips\, Tricks\, and Techniques and the illustrator of the children’s book\, Island in the Salish Sea\, by Sheryl McFarlane. Her work has been published in Western Art Collector\, Plein Air Magazine\, Western Art & Architecture\, Watercolor Artist\, The Artist’s Network\, and Splash 10: The Best of Watercolor. \nLambert is an adjunct professor of art at the College of Southern Idaho and teaches workshops throughout U.S.\, Canada\, Spain\, and Morrocco.
